Mass accuracy is used to measure free light chains in serum, urine, CSF and body fluid. The mass accuracy allows for direct quantitation of each kappa and lambda light chain. This technique is useful in the diagnosis and prognosis of multiple myeloma, MGUS, B-CLL, Waldenstroms macrogloblinemia, AL amyliodosis, non-secretory myeloma and for distinguishing an auto-immune response from a monoclonal gammopathy.
