Pancreatic Tumor Xenografts and Cell Lines

Technology #2013-061

We have developed an ongoing procedure at Mayo Clinic for obtaining and xenografting fresh pancreatic adenocarcinoma tumors into SCID mice. The tissues are obtained through an institutionally review board approved process, and informed consent is obtained from the patients. We have full annotation of clinical characteristics and disease course of the patients. Pretreatment blood samples (suitable for DNA extraction, plasma and serum) have been obtained from the patients. Around 25 of the xenografts and matching germline DNA have undergone full exome sequencing. Frozen tissue RNA is being analyzed for expression analysis. Cell lines have been developed from these xenografts and are also undergoing exome sequencing.
